There’s no denying that the end of summer is one of the best times to live here because of long days, warm summer nights and lots of fun Portland Oregon Events including the following:
Movies On A Rooftop
Date – August 31st
See films on the rooftop of Hotel Deluxe during Top Down: Rooftop Cinema, with local bands at 8 p.m., cocktails, beer, barbecue, and films at dusk. No pets.
Thursday Afternoon Cruise
Date – August 31st
Enjoy live music, views, a cash bar, and bistro food for sale during Thursday Early Escape Concert Series aboard Portland Spirit, departing just south of the Broadway Bridge for age 21+.
Zoo Concerts
Date – Sept 1st through 9th
Oregon Zoo Summer Concerts feature world-class performers, and your ticket includes a same-day zoo pass.
Arab Festival
Date – Sept 2nd,
One of the top Portland Oregon Events, the Arab Festival is the place to enjoy Arabic music, dance, poetry, food, art and crafts at the Arab Festival at Oaks Amusement Park. Free.
Pearl District Art Festival
Date – Sept 2nd
Art in The Pearl features 100 booths of fine art as well as music, food, and hands-on art activities along NW 8th Ave in North Park Blocks. Free.
Comics Convention
Date – Sept 8-10
Fans of comic books, games, sci-fi, and pop culture can meet artists, celebrities, and publishers at Rose City Comic Con in the Oregon Convention Center.
Aids Walk
Date – Sept 9th
The 2.4-mile AIDS Walk Portland includes music, entertainment, a kids’ corner, and a beer garden, with the start and finish at Fields Neighborhood Park.
Marathon and Beer Festival
Date – Sept 15th through 17th
Vancouver USA Marathon has a health and fitness expo Friday & Saturday; a 5K and kids’ run Saturday; a marathon & half marathon Sunday, and an Oktoberfest all three days in Esther Short Park.
People in The Street
Date – September 24th
Walk, bike, or roller-skate on 8 miles of streets when most cars are banned for Sellwood-Milwaukie Sunday Parkways, with activities and music nearby. Free.
Beer Festival
Date – September 29th through 30th
Portland Fresh Hops Fest is one of the top Portland Oregon events because this event has beer made with fresh hops for adults and root beer for kids (only Saturday before 5 p.m.) at Oaks Amusement Park.
Kite Festival
Date – September 30th through August 1st
Both days of the Festival include a $5 kite-making workshop, kids’ parade, and professional shows at the beach. Repeats in June. Free.
