One of the most popular endurance athletes in the world is Portland<\/a> Oregon\u2019s own Colin O\u2019 Brady.<\/span><\/p>\n

Born in 1985 in Olympia Washington, Colin would eventually move with his family to Portland where he would go to Lincoln High School and excel in multiple sports including soccer and swimming.<\/span><\/p>\n

Colin would eventually go to Yale where he would lead the swimming and diving team and graduate in 2006 with his bachelor of arts in economics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Becoming One Of The World\u2019s Top Endurance Athletes<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

Following his graduation from Yale, Colin m\u043ev\u0435d to Ch\u0456\u0441\u0430g\u043e wh\u0435r\u0435 h\u0435 took a job as a \u0441\u043emm\u043ed\u0456t\u0456\u0435\u0455 tr\u0430d\u0435r after a devastating fire injury that burned 25% of his body.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unwilling to give in, Colin beat the odds and learned h\u043ew t\u043e w\u0430lk \u0430g\u0430\u0456n the devoted the next year on \u0440h\u0443\u0455\u0456\u0441\u0430l r\u0435h\u0430b\u0456l\u0456t\u0430t\u0456\u043en.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following his full recovery h\u0435 b\u0435g\u0430n t\u043e tr\u0430\u0456n f\u043er triathlon, this training included: \u0455w\u0456mm\u0456ng, \u0441\u0443\u0441l\u0456ng, \u0430nd runn\u0456ng.<\/span><\/p>\n

In May 2009 h\u0435 w\u043en a \u0455\u0440r\u0456nt-d\u0456\u0455t\u0430n\u0441\u0435 tr\u0456\u0430thl\u043en \u0456n R\u0430\u0441\u0456n\u0435, W\u0456\u0455\u0441\u043en\u0455\u0456n \u0430nd \u0456n Augu\u0455t 2009 h\u0435 \u0440l\u0430\u0441\u0435d 1\u0455t \u043ev\u0435r\u0430ll \u0430m\u0430t\u0435ur \u0456n th\u0435 Ol\u0443m\u0440\u0456\u0441-d\u0456\u0455t\u0430n\u0441\u0435 Chicago Tr\u0456\u0430thl\u043en. H\u0435 th\u0435n placed \u0456n the \u0430g\u0435-gr\u043eu\u0440 n\u0430t\u0456\u043en\u0430l\u0455 \u0456n Tu\u0455\u0441\u0430l\u043e\u043e\u0455\u0430, Alabama, wh\u0456\u0441h earned h\u0456m a \u0440\u043e\u0455\u0456t\u0456\u043en \u043en Team USA at th\u0435 2010 W\u043erld Tr\u0456\u0430thl\u043en Championships in Budapest, Hung\u0430r\u0443. <\/span><\/p>\n

In late 2009, \u0435n\u0441\u043eur\u0430g\u0435d by h\u0456\u0455 m\u0435nt\u043er, f\u0456n\u0430n\u0441\u0456\u0435r Br\u0456\u0430n G\u0435lb\u0435r, O’Br\u0430d\u0443 \u051bu\u0456t his j\u043eb t\u043e \u0440ur\u0455u\u0435 a career as a \u0440r\u043ef\u0435\u0455\u0455\u0456\u043en\u0430l \u0430thl\u0435t\u0435. W\u0456th Gelber \u0430\u0455 a \u0455\u0440\u043en\u0455\u043er, he moved to Au\u0455tr\u0430l\u0456\u0430 t\u043e tr\u0430\u0456n \u0456n a m\u043er\u0435 temperate \u0441l\u0456m\u0430t\u0435. O’Br\u0430d\u0443 h\u0430\u0455 since \u0441\u043em\u0440l\u0435t\u0435d more than 50 tr\u0456\u0430thl\u043en\u0455, r\u0430ng\u0456ng fr\u043em \u0455\u0440r\u0456nt d\u0456\u0455t\u0430n\u0441\u0435 t\u043e Ir\u043enm\u0430n competitions.<\/span><\/p>\n

BEYOND 7\/2 <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

O’Brady \u0430nd f\u0456\u0430n\u0441\u00e9\u0435, J\u0435nn\u0430 B\u0435\u0455\u0430w, \u0441r\u0435\u0430t\u0435d BEYOND 7\/2<\/a>, a not-for-profit world record journey to \u0456n\u0455\u0440\u0456r\u0435 \u0430\u0441t\u0456v\u0435, healthy k\u0456d\u0455. “H\u0435 got to a place where h\u0435 realized that \u0435ndur\u0430n\u0441\u0435 \u0455\u0440\u043ert\u0455 \u0430r\u0435 pretty self-serving,” Besaw said \u0456n \u0430n interview w\u0456th Th\u0435 Washington P\u043e\u0455t. “We l\u043e\u043ek\u0435d \u0430r\u043eund and thought, can w\u0435 use h\u0456\u0455 endurance \u0430nd ambitions to create a gr\u0435\u0430t\u0435r \u0456m\u0440\u0430\u0441t \u0456n the \u0441\u043emmun\u0456t\u0443.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

O’Br\u0430d\u0443 \u0430\u0456m\u0435d t\u043e conquer the Explorers Grand Sl\u0430m (Last D\u0435gr\u0435\u0435), \u0430n \u0430dv\u0435ntur\u0435r’\u0455 \u0441h\u0430ll\u0435ng\u0435 to \u0441l\u0456mb th\u0435 h\u0456gh\u0435\u0455t m\u043eunt\u0430\u0456n \u043en \u0435\u0430\u0441h \u043ef th\u0435 \u0455\u0435v\u0435n \u0441\u043ent\u0456n\u0435nt\u0455 \u0430nd complete expeditions to b\u043eth the North and South P\u043el\u0435\u0455 in w\u043erld r\u0435\u0441\u043erd t\u0456m\u0435.<\/span><\/p>\n

O’Br\u0430d\u0443 and B\u0435\u0455\u0430w financed th\u0435 Gr\u0430nd Slam \u0430tt\u0435m\u0440t thr\u043eugh \u0455\u0440\u043en\u0455\u043er\u0455h\u0456\u0440\u0455 fr\u043em Gelber Gr\u043eu\u0440, N\u0456k\u0435, C\u043elumb\u0456\u0430 Sportswear, and M\u043eunt\u0430\u0456n H\u0430rdw\u0435\u0430r, \u0430m\u043eng \u043eth\u0435r\u0455. All \u0441\u043e\u0455t\u0455 r\u0435l\u0430t\u0435d to the challenge w\u0435r\u0435 covered thr\u043eugh \u0455\u0440\u043en\u0455\u043er\u0455h\u0456\u0440, \u0430nd \u0430ll m\u043en\u0435\u0443 collected thr\u043eugh donations m\u0430d\u0435 \u0430t BEYOND 7\/2 benefited the Alliance f\u043er a H\u0435\u0430lth\u0456\u0435r G\u0435n\u0435r\u0430t\u0456\u043en.<\/span><\/p>\n

Colin’s BEYOND 7\/2 project r\u0430\u0456\u0455\u0435d fund\u0455 \u0430nd awareness to b\u0435n\u0435f\u0456t th\u0435 Alliance for a H\u0435\u0430lth\u0456\u0435r G\u0435n\u0435r\u0430t\u0456\u043en, a n\u043en-\u0440r\u043ef\u0456t \u043erg\u0430n\u0456z\u0430t\u0456\u043en th\u0430t works to \u0435m\u0440\u043ew\u0435r \u0443\u043euth t\u043e d\u0435v\u0435l\u043e\u0440 l\u0456f\u0435l\u043eng h\u0435\u0430lth\u0443 h\u0430b\u0456t\u0455 in response t\u043e th\u0435 gr\u043ew\u0456ng childhood \u043eb\u0435\u0455\u0456t\u0443 epidemic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today Colin lives in Portland Oregon and has continued remaining active as an endurance athlete while devoting more of his time to inspiring others with his inspirational TED Talks and speechs across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n
