<\/a><\/p>\nIf you follow the NFL like many people from Portland Oregon do then the name Ndamukong Suh <\/strong>will be familiar to you because he\u2019s been in the NFL since 2010 with the Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and Los Angeles Rams.<\/span><\/p>\n Born in Portland Oregon in 1987, Suh went to Grant High School and quickly gained recognition in multiple sports including track and field, basketball and football.<\/span><\/p>\n He seemingly excellent in every sport that he played but ultimately settled on playing just football and gained national recognition that enabled him to become highly sought after by many universities but he would ultimately settle on the University of Nebraska.<\/span><\/p>\n Drafted in 2010 by the Detroit Lions, Suh was described by Espn\u2019s Mel Kiper, Jr. as the most dominating defensive tackle that he\u2019s seen in 32 years.<\/span><\/p>\n He was a \u201cbeast\u201d when he was drafted, he could bench press 225 an amazing 32 times and he had an astounding vertical leap of 35 \u00bd inches.<\/span><\/p>\n His career got off to an excellent start when he recorded his first sack in a game against the Chicago Bears and a few days later he recorded his first career interception.<\/span><\/p>\n Suh has been criticized for his aggressive style of play and has been fined eight times through 2014 for a total of $255,375 by the NFL, with seven for player-safety violations, and suspended once (for two games), resulting in the loss of an additional $165,294 in pay. Despite issues with sportsmanship, Suh is recognized as one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL.[4]<\/a><\/sup>In 2015, Suh was named the 24th best player in the NFL, while being the sixth highest ranked defensive player. He has won numerous awards and accolades, having been named the Defensive Rookie of the Year, while being selected to four Pro Bowls in his first five seasons, and having been named an All-Pro six times. Four times to the All-Pro First team, including his rookie year, and twice to the All-Pro Second team. In 2015, Suh became the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history, having signed a six-year contract with the\u00a0Miami Dolphins<\/a>, worth in excess of $114 million, with nearly $60 million fully guaranteed; he was released after just three seasons.<\/a><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Now at the age of 31, like most players in the NFL, it\u2019s likely that his career winding down.
