If you followed the 2016 Summer Olympics it wasn’t hard to be aware of Ashton Eaton because his name was everywhere since he won his second decathlon gold medal and what most people who watched his Olympic victory didn’t know is that Ashton Eaton was born in Portland Oregon.
About Ashton Eaton
Born on January 21st, 1988, Ashton Eaton family lineage included a grandfather who played Michigan State University football and his parents were both athletic as well so it was only a matter of time until Ashton gravitated to sports when became interested in track and field during high school.
Although Eaton and his mother relocated briefly to Bend Oregon during his high school years, Ashton Eaton ultimately chose the University of Oregon for it’s awesome decathlon program and following his college years he went on to success in the London Olympics and Pan American Junior Olympics before achieving more success during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

As we get closer to 2017 Ashton Eaton is planning on making the 2017 World Championship in Athletics his last major competition before he retires at the age of 29. With many victories behind him, it’s likely that we won’t see the last of Ashton Eaton in Portland or Olympic sports since future Olympians will most likely seek him out for advice and training for competitions around the world in the years to come.
